Getting Started
One to One Assessment or Straight to Class
A one to one assessment is a great way to get started with Pilates if you have never done it before. During the assessment, I will:
-
Assess your current fitness level and work with you to identify any areas of weakness or tightness.
-
Create a personalised program to address your individual needs.
-
Teach you the correct technique for each exercise.
-
Offer support and guidance as you learn the Pilates method.

If you have done Pilates before and have had a break, or you want to take it up a level, you can start straight into the class. Please contact me for a start date.
What To Wear and Bring
I recommend wearing comfortable, breathable clothing that is not too baggy, such as leggings or shorts and a t-shirt or vest top. You may also wish to bring a light sweater or long-sleeved shirt for cool-down exercises. Wear lightweight trainers for the warm up, then choose grip socks or barefoot for the rest of the session.
I suggest bringing a water bottle to your session.
You will also need to bring a mat and any pilates equipment you have, however I can lend you these at first.
Pilates Equipment
-
Soft pilates ball – 18cm (7inch)
-
Thin Pilates cushion 2.5cm (1 inch)
-
Thick Pilates cushion 5cm (2 inch)
-
Mat – thick but not stretchy. I stock Physical company Pilates mats.
-
Exercise bands – they come in various strengths, I can advise
-
Pilates hard block - 30x20x5cm
-
Prickle stimulating balls pair – the correct ones only come from Physical Company, so I stock these. (not the hard trigger point balls)
